Career

Mike Fullman was a backup corner during his two-year career at Nebraska, but contributed to a stout blackshirt defense. He had 28 tackles (19 solo), one pass breakups and two interceptions. In addition to defense, Fullman was a punt returner and returned two punts to the house, finishing his career with 42 returns for 535 yards and two scores.

1996 (Senior)

Fullman played in 10 games his senior year and recorded 12 tackles (eight solo). He also recorded one pass breakup during the season. Fullman was the leading punt returner for the second year in a row. He matched the number of returns he had his junior year (21) and finished the year with 250 yards. His longest return came against Michigan State when he darted 62 yards for a score. In the 1996 Orange Bowl, Fullman had one tackle, one pass breakup and returned three punts for 25 yards.

1995 (Junior)

The instant impact of Fullman caught many by surprise, in fact, Fullman was not listed in the 1995 media guide. He played backup corner behind Michael Booker, and in 11 games, had 16 tackles and two interceptions which he returned 97 yards. His longest return was an 86-yard touchdown scamper against top 10 Kansas, while his other pick was for 11 yards against Iowa State. His best tackle day was three against the Cyclones. Fullman was also Nebraska’s No. 1 punt returner with 285 yards on 21 returns for a 13.6 average which led the Big Eight and ranked 10th nationally. Fullman had a long of 79 yards and scored against Kansas State but also had returns of 20 yards or more against Missouri (22) and Oklahoma (48). He had a high of seven returns against Missouri (for 61 yards) and a high of 90 yards in returns against the K-State Wildcats (on three returns). In the 1996 Fiesta Bowl, Fullman had one tackle and one punt return for no yards.

1994 (Transfer Student)

A transfer student, Fullman sat out the 1994 season.

Before Nebraska (Rutgers/Southeast Community College)

Fullman played one year for Rutgers after redshirting a season, then left after the 1993 football season in mid-semester, attending Southeast Community College in Lincoln for one semester.

Before College (Abraham Clark High School)

Fullman is originally from Roselle, N.J., home of former Huskers Barron Miles and Scott Baldwin. He attended Abraham Clark High School, playing running back and defensive back. He graduated in 1992.

Personal

Mike has an older brother and a sister and is the son of Benjamin Fullman and Jerilyn Fullman. He was born on Aug. 9, 1974.
