  • Member of Two Nebraska National Championship Teams (1995, 1997)

Career

Marcus Johnson played in five games throughout his collegiate career. He redshirted his freshman year in 1995 before appearing in four games his redshirt freshman season. He'd only appear in one game his sophomore season before decided to pursue other interests. Johnson would leave Nebraska as a member of its 1995 and 1997 national championship teams.

Before Nebraska (Vista High School)

Playing for Coach Dick Haines at Vista High, Johnson played both sides of the ball, and was recruited by Nebraska to play on the offensive line. He earned second-team All-North County, All-Palomar League honors and was a scholar-athlete as a senior with a 3.5 GPA. Johnson came to NU after turning down scholarship offers from UCLA, Colorado, Arizona State and Oregon.

The son of Calvin and Rosie Johnson, Marcus was born on Jan. 13, 1977.
