Career

Kory Mikos redshirted as a walk-on in 1992, played in two games in 1993, earned his first letter in 1994 playing in five games and served as the backup left offensive tackle behind Chris Dishman and then Adam Treu, respectively, playing in every game in 1995 and 1996. He was a member of the PAT and field goal units.

1996 (Senior)

During his senior season, Mikos played in all 12 games backing up Eric Anderson at right tackle. Mikos was also a member of the PAT and field goal squads. He assisted the team to a No. 4 final ranking in rushing (291.9 ypg), No. 4 in scoring offense (42.7 ppg) and with his teammates allowed just 10 sacks on the season. Mikos also saw action in the 1996 Orange Bowl against Virginia Tech.

1995 (Junior)

Mikos played in all 11 games as the No. 2 left offensive tackle behind Chris Dishman. Mikos was also a member of the PAT and field goal squads. Mikos helped lead the team to a No. 1 ranking in rushing (399.8 ypg), No. 2 in total offense (556.3 ypg) and No. 1 in scoring with a school and Big Eight record 52.4 points per game. Mikos also saw action in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl against Florida.

1994 (Sophomore)

Mikos earned his first letter playing in five games at left tackle behind Rob Zatechka and Chris Dishman. He aided the team to its 11th NCAA rushing title.

1993 (Freshman)

Mikos played in two games at offensive tackle but did not letter.

1992 (Redshirt)

A walk-on athlete, Mikos redshirted his first year.

Seward High School

Mikos played offensive and defensive tackle for Coach Bob Starr at Seward. He helped lead his team to the 1991 conference championship and state playoffs and earned all-state honors in 1991 as a defensive tackle. He played in the 1992 Nebraska Shrine Game. He also lettered three times each in basketball and track.

Personal

Kory is the son of Frank and Dee Mikos. He was born in Kansas City on Oct. 15, 1973.
