Career

Dorrick Roy joined the Huskers in 1994 after earning a scholarship at the tight end position. He redshirted his first year in Lincoln and saw limited action the next three years, earning his first and only letter his junior season. Following the 1997 season, he decided to pursue other interests. Roy left Nebraska as a member of all three of its 1990 national championship teams.

Before Nebraska (Montclair Prep High School)

A standout tight end, Roy was a first-team SuperPrep All-American as he caught 27 passes for 509 yards and three touchdowns for Montclair Prep in Van Nuys. As a linebacker, Roy had 113 tackles and 12 sacks his senior year, playing for Coach John Hazelton. He was named to the Long Beach Press-Telegram's Best in the West list and earned All-CIF, All-San Fernando Valley, All-Alpha League and Blue Chip all-regional honors. He picked Nebraska over Michigan, Texas, Colorado and Miami, to name a few.

Personal

The son of Donald and Lennie Roy, Dorrick was born on April 2, 1975. He is second cousins to Art Monk, the NFL's all-time reception leader (Washington Redskins) and ex-Phoenix Cardinal receiver Roy Green. Dorrick’s brother, Donovan, played on the offensive line at the University of New Mexico.
