Career

Billy Haafke finished his playing career with seven receptions for 69 yards in 28 appearances.

1998 (Senior)

Haafke played in all 12 games his senior year and had six receptions for 54 yards. His career-best catch came against Missouri when he hauled in a 16-yard pass. In the 1998 Holiday Bowl against Arizona, Haafke had one reception for eight yards.

1997 (Junior)

Haafke played in eight games at split end and had one 15-yard catch against Akron in the season opener.

1996 (Sophomore)

A reserve split end, Haafke played in five games but did not have any catches.

1995 (Freshman)

As a redshirt freshman, Haafke played in three games.

1994 (Redshirt)

A walk-on, Haafke redshirted his first year at Nebraska.

South Sioux City High School

A two-time honorable-mention all-state receiver, Haafke played running back, split end, wingback and strong safety for South Sioux City. Haafke had 1,100 all-purpose yards as a junior and played in just four games as a senior. He earned 12 letters as a prepster, four in football, basketball and track.

Personal

The son of Bill and Leah Haafke, Billy was born on March 19, 1975. Billy majored in community health education and earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 1999.
