1994 (Senior)
Higman played in every game in 1994 as a backup to OLB Donta Jones. He recorded four tackles and had four QB hurries. In his career, Higman played in 26 games, with nine tackles and one sack.
1993 (Junior)
A backup at right outside linebacker to All-American Trev Alberts, Higman played in nine games and finished with four tackles, including one 13-yard sack against Texas Tech. He was named to the Phillips 66 Academic All-Big Eight Honor Roll with a 3.68 grade point average in mechanical engineering.
1992 (Sophomore)
Higman played in five games and had one unassisted tackle to earn his first letter.
1991 (Redshirt)
A walk-on, Higman redshirted his second year at Nebraska.
1990 (Freshman)
Higman played outside linebacker on the last Husker jayvee team which went 4-1-0 in 1990. He had 12 tackles (two solo) and two sacks for a 13-yard lost.
Before Nebraska (At Akron-Westfield HS)
A linebacker and offensive guard for Coach Craig Parkinson, Higman helped lead Akron-Westfield to the state quarterfinals his junior year, for the firs time in school history. He aided his school to a 16-2 two year record with nine shutouts, as he tallied a school record 130 tackles as a junior and added 94 as a senior. Higman earned first-team all-state honors and was also the class valedictoran.
Personal
The son of Harold and Sue Higman, Jerad was born Oct. 1, 1971 in Akron, Iowa and has two brothers, Joel and Justin. A mechanical engineering major, Higman posted a cumulative 3.68 grade point average. He spent the summer working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber company on an engineering internship.
