Member of Nebraska’s 1994 National Championship Team

1994 (Sophomore)
A reserve outside linebacker on Nebraska’s 1994 unbeaten national championship team, Jeff Olsen joined Jared Tomich in backing up Dwayne Harris at left outside linebacker heading into the season. Olsen, a 6-2, 210-pounder from Grant, Neb., enjoyed a strong spring season, recording four sacks over four spring scrimmages for the Big Red. However, he did not play in a game in 1994. The Big Eight champion Huskers went on to defeat Miami 24-17 in the 1995 Federal Express Orange Bowl.

1993 (Redshirt Freshman)
Olsen lettered for Nebraska after playing four games (North Texas, Kansas State, Missouri, Iowa State). He totaled two tackles and one quarterback hurry on the year. Olsen missed time after spraining an ankle three games into the 1993 season. He helped the Huskers to an unbeaten regular season and a Big Eight title. Nebraska battled to an 18-16 loss to Heisman Trophy winner Charlie Ward and Florida State in the 1994 Federal Express Orange Bowl.

1992 (Freshman)
A walk-on, Olsen redshirted in his first year as a Husker.

Grant High School
Olsen played defensive tackle and tight end for Coach Marlin Terwilliger at Grant High School. Olsen joined fellow Husker Ryan Terwilliger in leading Grant to state championships in 1988, 1989 and 1990. Olsen earned all-state honors in 1989 and 1990.

Personal
The son of Keith and Doris Olsen, Jeff was an accounting major at Nebraska.
