Career

Chris Norris played four seasons (1991-1994) at fullback for the Cornhuskers, winning a National Championship in 1994 as a player and in 1995 as a student-assistant coach. During his four-year playing career, Nebraska went 47-3, including a nation's best 26-game win streak.

1995 (Senior)

Norris appeared in only one game his senior year before suffering a career-ending neck injury. Despite the injury, Norris became a student-assistant coach and helped lead the Cornhuskers to a fifth straight Big Eight title and a second consecutive National Championship.

1994 (Junior)

Norris played in three games at fullback and rushed twice for seven yards including a five-yard gain against West Virginia in the Kickoff Classic. He also played against Pacific (one two-yard gain) and UCLA.

1993 (Sophomore)

Norris rushed the ball two times for 12 yards playing in four games. He had a long run of seven yards against North Texas.

1992 (Freshman)

Playing in three games, Norris rushed once for three yards against Oklahoma State.

1991 (Redshirt)

A walk-on, Norris redshirted his first year at Nebraska.

Papillion-LaVista High School

Norris played fullback and defensive tackle. In his three-year career, he rushed for 2,600 yards. He earned three letters in football and one in track.
