Career

Chad Blahak played in 11 games throughout his career as a Husker, notching a total of four tackles (three solo and one assist). He was a member of the 1994 and 1995 national championship teams and saw action in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl.

1996 (Senior)

Blahak entered his senior season as a reserve left corner behind returning starter Michael Booker and Leslie Dennis. He appeared in two games and had one unassisted tackle on the year.

1995 (Junior)

Blahak played in five games, recording two tackles (one solo against Missouri and one assist against Arizona State). He played in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl but didn't record any tackles.

1994 (Sophomore)

Blahak played in two games (UCLA and Pacific) and recorded one unassisted tackle.

1993 (Freshman)

Blahak played in two games but did not have any tackles.

1992 (Redshirt)

A walk-on, Blahak redshirted his first year.

Lincoln High

Blahak earned all-state honors playing cornerback, wide receiver and serving as Coach Harold Simpson's kicker. He had 17 interceptions in his career.

Personal

The son of Joe and Diane Blahak, Chad was born in Columbus, Neb., on Aug. 20, 1973. His father was a Nebraska letterman in 1970-71-72, winning national championship rings in 1970 and 1971. Joe and Chad are one of two father-son combinations to have earned national championship rings at Nebraska (also Bill and Jess Kosch). Chad majored in civil engineering.
