1994 (Senior)
Bryan Pruitt played in every game including the Federal Express Orange Bowl national championship game win over Miami as a backup to All-American Brendan Stai at right guard for the national champion Huskers in 1994. He helped Nebraska capture the NCAA rushing title by averaging 340.0 yards per game, while the Big Red ranked fifth nationally in total offense with 477.8 yards per game. A member of the "The Pipeline", Pruitt also helped NU rank sixth in the nation in scoring offense (36.3 ppg). He aided the Huskers to a 24-17 victory over the Hurricanes in the Orange Bowl, as Nebraska rallied with 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to claim its first national title since 1971.
1993 (Junior)
Pruitt played in seven games for the Big Eight champion Huskers to earn his first varsity letter at Nebraska. He helped the Big Red to an unbeaten regular season and an appearance in the 1994 Federal Express Orange Bowl national championship game against No. 1 Florida State, although he did not play in the contest. Pruitt was a backup to Stai and Ken Mehlin in 1993. He assisted in Nebraska ranking No. 3 nationally in rushing with 287.9 yards per game.
1992 (Sophomore)
Pruitt competed in two games as a backup guard for the Huskers in his third season as a Husker in 1992. He helped Nebraska claim the first of three straight Big Eight titles.
1991 (Redshirt)
A walk-on athlete, Pruitt redshirted in his second year as a Husker.
1990 (Freshman)
An offensive lineman on the Nebraska JV team in his first season in Lincoln, Pruitt helped the squad to a 4-1 record.
St. Laurence High School
A defensive tackle for Coach Bob Padjen, Pruitt lettered two years and was the St. Laurence MVP his senior year. He also won the Chicago Catholic League shot put and discus titles his senior year, while earning three letters in track and field.
Personal
The son of Roy and Geri Pruitt, Bryan has a sister, Jamie, and a brother, Roy. A criminal justice major, he was born in Omaha.
