1993 (Senior)
Branch played in nine games during the regular season, recording nine total tackles (five solo). Troy also had three quarterback hurries and a sack against going for a three yard loss against Texas Tech in week two. The Husker defense held opponents to an average of just 16 points per game and just 307 yards in total offense per game. The Cornhuskers made it back to the Orange bowl where Branch played, but recorded no tackles.

1992 (Junior)
Branch played in all 11 games at strong-side linebacker position and started the Missouri game when Mike Anderson was out with a knee injury. Branch recorded 21 tackles on the season (seven solo) and recovered two fumbles, both in the game against then-No. 8 Colorado. Phillips 66 Academic All-Big Eight Honor roll for the second consecutive year as he posted 3.396 cumulative GPA. Extremely active in community events and youth programs, Branch was one of two Huskers named to the CFA “Good Works Team.” He played in the Federal Express Orange Bowl vs. Florida State, but had no tackles. He was also nominated for Academic All-American honors.

1991 (Sophomore)
Branch played in all 11 regular-season games, plus the Orange Bowl vs. Miami, and finished the year with 11 total tackles, including a season-high three against both Oklahoma State and Missouri. With a 3.48 GPA studying history, he earned Phillips 66 Big Eight Academic Honor Roll status.

1990 (Freshman)
Branch lettered as a redshirt freshman, as he recorded 10 tackles in the regular season.

1989 (Redshirt Freshman)
As a scholarship athlete, Branch redshirted his freshman year.

Before Nebraska (Camden High School)
Troy recorded 70 unassisted tackles, including nine sacks for Coach William Simpson’s team, which finished 8-2 and reached the semifinals of the New Jersey state playoffs in 1988. A two-time all-conference linebacker, he was named All-South Jersey all-state, All-Delaware Valley (including the Philadelphia area) as a senior. An excellent student, he was named the South Jersey Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year. Camden High, by the way, is the arch-rival of Camden Wilson, which sent 1983 Heisman Trophy winner Mike Rozier to Nebraska. He also lettered in chess.

Personal
The son of Betty Warren and Lonnie Branch, he was born June 10, 1971, at Camden. He has one sister, Denise Warren. He’s an accomplished chess player and posts a 3.32 cumulative GPA. Branch graduated in the spring of 1993, before the start of his senior season and took graduate courses during the 1993 season. Branch worked in the community and was named to the first annual “Good Works Team.” He was a keynote speaker at the Best of America “School is Cool” Jam and at the National American Education Week programs. He was a member of the Ventures in Partnership Outreach Committee; a board member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board, a UNL Student-Athlete Ambassador and coordinated the 1992 Great Plains Winter Sleepout for the Homeless on the capital lawn.
