Member of Nebraska’s 1994 National Championship Team
1994 (Sophomore)
Trampis Wrice (pronounced RICE) earned his first playing time as a Husker, competing in four games as a cornerback for unbeaten and national champion Nebraska. He helped the Big Red capture the Big Eight title on the way to a 24-17 win over Miami in the 1995 Federal Express Orange Bowl. He finished the season with five tackles, including two solos. He recorded four stops, including both unassisted tackles, in Nebraska’s win over Pacific. He also saw action in the season-opening win over West Virginia in the Kickoff Classic, before posting an assisted tackle in the win over UCLA. He saw his final action in the win over Oklahoma State. He did not receive a varsity letter.

A scholarship athlete, Wrice redshirted in his second season at Nebraska.
1992 (Freshman)
Wrice sat out the 1992 season.
Valdosta High School
An all-state defensive back, Wrice helped Valdosta High School to a pair of Georgia state titles (1989, 1990) and three top-15 national rankings (10th, 1988; 7th, 1989; 11th, 1990). He closed his career with 11 interceptions. Valdosta, which was coached by Nick Hyder, was the same high school that produced Dana Brinson (1985-88), a former Husker and San Diego Charger. An outstanding all-around athlete, Wrice earned four letters in football, three in basketball and two in track and Valdosta.
Personal
The son of Jackie Brinkley, Wrice was born New Year’s Day. Wrice remained in the Cornhusker state following his football career and has worked many years for the state of Nebraska.
