1993 (Senior)
Todd Heyne (pronounced HY-nee) earned a varsity letter after playing in two regular-season games as an outside linebacker as a senior for the Big Eight champion Huskers in 1993. The 5-11, 220-pounder from Boulder City, Nev., notched his only tackle of the year with an assisted stop in a win over Colorado State. He also played late in the season in Nebraska’s win over Iowa State.
1992 (Junior)
Heyne was a reserve outside linebacker for the 1992 Big Eight champion Huskers. He did not record a tackle.
1991 (Sophomore)
Heyne saw his first varsity action for the Huskers, recording two tackles (one solo) for the Big Red as an outside linebacker in 1991.
1990 (Redshirt)
Heyne redshirted in his second season at Nebraska in 1990.
1989 (Freshman)
A walk-on, Heyne was an outside linebacker for the 3-1-1 Husker JV team. He recorded two tackles (one solo) on the season.
Boulder City High School
Heyne played defensive end, offensive guard and tight end for Boulder City High School. He earned all-state honors as both a guard and end as a senior in 1988. He recorded 89 tackles at defensive end to go along with five sacks, three blocked kicks and three fumble recoveries.
Personal
The son of Warren and Bonnie Heyne, Todd has two brothers, David and Terry, and one sister, Donna. Todd was a natural sciences major at Nebraska.
