Member of Nebraska’s 1994 National Championship Team

1994 (Senior)
Erich Hohl was on the roster for Nebraska’s 1994 national championship team, but he did not play in a game for the Big Red as a senior. The Huskers completed an unbeaten season with a 24-17 win over Miami in the 1995 Federal Express Orange Bowl national championship game. The Huskers won the Big Eight title and claimed the NCAA rushing crown.

1993 (Junior)
Hohl earned a varsity letter for the Huskers after playing in six games in 1993. The 6-3, 225-pound tight end from Gering did not produce any statistics, but he did help Nebraska to the Big Eight championship and a trip to the 1994 Federal Express Orange Bowl national championship game against Florida State. A strong blocker, Hohl also helped the Big Red claim the Big Eight rushing title while ranking third nationally with 287.9 rushing yards per game.

1992 (Sophomore)
A reserve tight end behind Gerald Armstrong, Trumane Bell, Matt Shaw and Mark Gilman on Nebraska’s preseason depth chart, Hohl worked to earn playing time for the Big Eight champion Huskers.

1991
Hohl redshirted in his second season with the Huskers in 1991.

1990 (Freshman)
A walk-on from Gering High School, Hohl played for the Nebraska JV team in 1990.
