1991 (Senior)
Brian Brown played in three games and totaled four tackles (one solo) as a senior defensive tackle for the Big Eight champion Huskers in 1991. He started Nebraska’s season-opening win over Utah State at the defensive left tackle position. The 6-6, 275-pounder also helped the Big Red to a berth in the 1992 Federal Express Orange Bowl.

A three-time letterman, Brown totaled 16 tackles including one for two yards lost and a fumble recovery in his 18-game Husker career.

1990 (Junior)
Brown saw the most extensive action of his career by playing in 10 of 11 regular-season games as an alternate behind All-American Kenny Walker at defensive tackle. Brown only missed the opener with Baylor. He finished the year with seven tackles, including one for a loss of two yards, while adding a fumble recovery. He earned his second varsity letter and helped the Huskers to a bid in the 1991 Florida Citrus Bowl.

1989 (Sophomore)
Brown continued to climb the depth chart at defensive tackle and eventually played five games, totaling five tackles and earning his first varsity letter. He helped the Huskers to an appearance in the 1990 Sunkist Fiesta Bowl.

1988 (Redshirt)
Brown redshirted in his second season as a Husker, as Nebraska captured the Big Eight regular-season title.

1987 (Freshman)
An alternate defensive tackle on Coach Shane Thorell’s Husker junior varsity team, Brown recorded 16 total tackles, including one for a two-yard loss.

Republican Valley High School
Brown averaged 13 tackles per game to earn all-state honors despite playing in just five of Republican Valley’s 10 games while battling a shoulder injury as a senior in 1986. He was also a three-time all-conference pick for Coach Larry Brown. Brian also lettered in basketball at Republican Valley. 

Personal
The son of Ron and Shirley Brown, Brian was born in McCook, Neb. He was a criminal justice major at Nebraska.
