1992 (Senior)
A versatile back who played both I-back and fullback for the Big Red, Andre McDuffy entered his senior season as Nebraska’s No. 3 I-back behind Derek Brown and Calvin Jones, and the No. 2 fullback alongside Cory Schlesinger behind Lance Lewis. McDuffy played in 10 regular-season games and rushed 24 times for 127 yards (5.3 ypc) and two touchdowns. He added one reception for 13 yards against Kansas. A regular contributor on special teams, McDuffy also recorded three tackles, including two solos. He helped the Big Red win the Big Eight title and earn a trip to the 1993 Federal Express Orange Bowl against Florida State. The Huskers won the NCAA rushing title for the second straight season by averaging 328.2 yards per game, while ranking second nationally in scoring (38.8 ppg).
A three-time letterman, McDuffy played in 27 regular-season games as Husker. He rushed for 195 career yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries. He added on reception for 13 yards and 13 career tackles on special teams.
1991 (Junior)
McDuffy played in 10 of NU’s 11 regular-season games. He carried three times for 19 yards, while also recording nine tackles on special teams. He also forced one fumble. He helped Nebraska win the Big Eight title and earn a trip to the 1992 Federal Express Orange Bowl, where he registered one unassisted tackle on special teams against Miami. The Huskers also won the NCAA rushing title by averaging 353.2 yards per game, while ranking third nationally in both total offense (506.5 ypg) and scoring (41.3 ppg).
1990 (Redshirt)
McDuffy redshirted in his third season at Nebraska.
1989 (Sophomore)
McDuffy originally planned to redshirt but injuries to I-backs George Achola (broken leg) and Terry Rodgers (knee surgery) put McDuffy in the mix in Nebraska’s backfield. McDuffy earned his first varsity letter after playing in seven regular-season games. He rushed 12 times for 49 yards, including a season-high 18 yards in NU’s 48-0 win over Minnesota. He added one tackle on special teams. Nebraska earned a trip to the 1990 Sunkist Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.
1988 (Freshman)
A scholarship recruit, McDuffy rushed 38 times for 238 yards and two touchdowns as a reserve I-back on Nebraska’s junior varsity team. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry.
Bell High School
An all-district selection as a senior for Coach Tim Edwards at Bell High School in Euless, Texas, McDuffy carried 128 times for 816 yards and eight touchdowns in 1987. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry. He also caught seven passes for 161 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown. McDuffy was also Bell’s leading punt and kick returner. He also lettered in both cross country and track and field.

The son of Henrietta McDuffy, Andre was born in Yonkers, N.Y. He has one sister.
