1992 (Senior)
One of Nebraska’s most talented, durable players, Hill has started every game at left outside linebacker the last two year and has played in all 36 games over the last three. Already establishing himself as the best in the Big 8, going into his senior season Hill was expected to challenge for high national honors as a senior. Hill delivered with First-Team All-America honors as a senior. Named Sporting News Player-of-the-Week against Colorado. For the season Hill compiled a team leading 82 total tackles, 35 of which were unassisted. Hill also racked up 12 tackles for 61 yards lost. Hill also caused a team high 4 fumbles and recovered 1 fumble himself. For the second year in a row Hill was second on the team in quarterback hurries, 19, once again second to John Parrella’s 23. Hill finished out the season with 6 sacks for a whopping 46 yards lost. Hill had a monster game against No. 2 Washington in Seattle where he led the Blackshirts with 13 tackles. Hill’s other big game came at Columbia, Mo. where Tommie Frazier was making his first start. Hill ended all Tiger hopes as he sacked Missouri quarterback John Handy, forcing Handy to fumble and NU defensive tackle John Parrella recovered. Hill was named outstanding defensive player-of-the-game in the regular season finale with 10 tackles against KansasState in the Coca-Cola Bowl in Tokyo.
1991 (Junior)
Was named second-team All-Big 8 by the Associated Press in 1991. One of the league’s top pass rushers, Hill led the Huskers in tackles for loss with 9.5 for 52.5 yards lost and shared the team lead in quarterback hurries with tackle John Parrella at 17. Hill was NU’s fifth-leading tackler with 65 (up from 49 in his standout sophomore season), including 4.5 sacks for 31.5 yards, plus two pass breakups, a fumble caused, a fumble recovered, and an interception caused. He was Nebraska’s defensive player of the week three times, for performances against Utah State, Kansas State and Oklahoma, and capped his junior season by being name Big 8 defensive player-of-the-week in the 19-14 win over OU. Against the Sooners, he had six total tackles, including two for losses of 9 yards and an 8-yard sack of Sooner quarterback Cale Gundy, and he forced Gundy to throw two incompletion on the Sooners’ last possession. One of the top career performances came in Nebraska’s wild, com-from-behind, 38-31, win over Kansas State, Oct. 19, when he had nine tackles, two sacks for 18 yards, and broke up Wildcat quarterback Paul Watson’s fourth-down pass at the Husker goal line with 36 second left. Hill had his season tackle high of 10 twice, vs. then-No. 4 Washington, Sept. 21, and at Kansas, Nov. 9.
1990 (Sophomore)
As a sophomore playing the outside linebacker position opposite Mike Croel (the 1991 NFL defensive rookie-of-the-year), Hill saw plenty of action come his way, and handled it well. He was sixth on the team in tackles with 49, and tied for third in tackles for loss with 10 for 43 yards. Travis was second behind All-America tackle Kenny Walker in QB hurries with 12, and led the Huskers in fumble recoveries with three. He capped the season with and 11-tackle game at Oklahoma, a performance which earned him CBS Nebraska player-of-the-game and NU defensive player-of-the week honors.
1989 (Redshirt Freshman)
Hill came off a redshirt year to back up All-Big 8 OLB Jeff Mills, and had an outstanding rookie season. He recorded 25 total tackles (16 unassisted), including six for losses totaling 30 yards, three of those QB sacks for 25 yards lost. He had six hurries, one of which resulted in a Husker interception vs. Utah. He also caused a fumble against the Utes, and had a blocked punt against Missouri which was recovered by teammate Reggie Cooper in the end zone for a touchdown

Two-time all-district, All-BrazoriaCounty and All-Greater Houston for Coach Rod Ivy. Helped lead Pearland to the state playoffs as a junior in 1986, but the school fell 0-10 his senior year. Lettered three times in basketball, twice in track.
