1989 (Senior)
McCoy was listed as the No. 3 split end on Nebraska’s depth chart behind returning starter Morgan Gregory and Chip Bahe, but still earned his second varsity letter. Providing depth and experience to the receiving corps. He helped the Cornhuskers to a 10–2 record and earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. McCoy helped Nebraska lead the Big-Eight in rushing offense (375.3 ypg), scoring offense (44.7 ppg), and total offense (513.3 ypg).

1988 (Junior)
McCoy saw action as a reserve in four regular-season games and also appeared in Nebraska’s Orange Bowl matchup against Miami. He helped the Cornhuskers post an 11–2 record and earn a berth in the Orange Bowl against Miami. 

1987 (Sophomore)
McCoy earned a varsity letter after seeing action as a reserve in four regular season games. His help as a reserve assisted the Huskers to a 10-2 record and an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. 

1986 (Redshirt)
McCoy redshirted in his second season as a Husker.

1985 (Freshman)
A walk-on, McCoy was an alternate split end on Coach Dan Young’s 5-0 freshman team. 

Lincoln Southeast High School
As a running back for Coach Chuck Mitzerski, he earned All-Class and All-State honors while also being named All-Conference and serving as the honorary captain of the All-City team. Tim also earned All-City and honorable mention All-State recognition in baseball. 

Personal
Tim was a civil engineering major with a 3.2 GPA. He is the son of Patrick and Sue McCoy.
