1990 (Senior)
A two-year letterman as a reserve cornerback at Nebraska, Robert Hicks played in all 11 regular-season games and the Florida Citrus Bowl as a senior. He totaled eight tackles, including two solos, while recovering two fumbles. He also notched a trio of pass breakups for the Big Red. He helped Nebraska rank seventh nationally in scoring defense (13.4 ppg) and total defense (263.5 ypg).

1989 (Junior)
Hicks claimed his first varsity letter after playing five games for the Huskers and the 1990 Sunkist Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. An alternate at left corner, Hicks totaled six tackles, including five solo stops, over his five regular-season games. As a team, Nebraska ranked eighth nationally in total defense (274.1 ypg) on the season. He also volunteered for duty on Nebraska’s JV team, recording another six tackles and an interception.

1988 (Sophomore)
Hicks saw his first varsity action but did not letter for the Big Red.

1987 (Redshirt)
Hicks redshirted in his second season as a Husker.

1986 (Freshman)
A walk-on, Hicks started at left corner for Coach Scott Downing’s Husker freshman team, recording 14 tackles, including nine solos, in a five-game season.

Fremont High School
Hicks played quarterback, running back and defensive back for Coach TaJa Rodisha at Fremont High School in Los Angeles. Hicks was twice named the team’s offensive player of the year. He scored four touchdowns against Washington High School as a senior and had two interceptions against Banning. Hicks visited Washington, Washington State and Utah, before choosing Nebraska. He also lettered in baseball, basketball and track at Fremont.

Personal
The son of Robert and Jerrilean Hicks, Robert was born in Los Angeles. He has a younger brother and two younger sisters. A speech communications major, Hicks went on to serve as an academic counselor at Nebraska.
