- Honorable-Mention Academic All-Big Eight (1989)
1989 (Senior)
O’Gara switched to offensive guard during his senior season and earned his third varsity letter. He helped the Cornhuskers to a 10–2 record and earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. As a member of Nebraska’s offensive line, he contributed to an offense that led the Big Eight in rushing offense (375.3 ypg), scoring offense (44.7 ppg), and total offense (513.3 ypg).
1988 (Junior)
O’Gara played tight end behind Todd Millikan, contributing in a reserve role. He appeared in four games during the season and recorded two receptions for 12 yards. He helped the Cornhuskers post an 11–2 record and earn a berth in the Orange Bowl against Miami.
1987 (Sophomore)
O’Gara earned his first varsity letter as a reserve center after appearing in seven regular season games. He also saw action in the Sunkist Fiesta Bowl against Florida State, while helping Nebraska to a 10-2 record.
1986 (Redshirt)
Chris redshirted in his second season as a Husker.
1985 (Freshman)
O'Gara started at center for coach Dan Young's 5-0 freshman team. He helped them average 483 total offensive yards per game including 358 rushing yards per game.
Madison West High School
Chris was an All-City and All-Conference selection for Coach Burt Hable, excelling as both a center and inside linebacker.
Personal
Chris is a business administration major and is son of Tom and Julie O'Gara.
