1988 (Senior)
A three-year starter and one of the best punters in Nebraska football history, John Kroeker averaged 40.6 yards on 44 kicks as a senior season on his way to honorable-mention All-Big Eight honors. An accomplished performer off the field, Kroeker capped his Husker career by claiming CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 1988.  

1987 (Junior)
Kroeker averaged 39.7 yards on 36 kicks his junior season. He averaged 44.8 yards on 12 punts in Nebraska's final two regular-season games. His 39.7 yard average ranked fourth in the Big Eight. Kroeker shined against Oklahoma when he averaged 46.2 yards on nine punts, including his longest punt of the year of 56 yards. Only 16 of his 36 punts were returned.

1986 (Sophomore)
In the spring, Kroeker emerged as the Huskers' No. 1 punter in the Red-White Game. He averaged 39.6 yards on 46 punts during the regular season. Only 20 of his 46 punts were returned for just a total of 92 yards (4.6 ypr). The longest punt return against Kroeker was just 15 yards.

Kroeker redshirted in his second season at Nebraska.

1984 (Freshman)
Kroeker averaged 40.6 yards on 24 punts for Nebraska's 4-1 junior varsity team. He also played split-end, where he was the team's third-leading reciever, catching four passes for 47 yards.

Before Nebraska (Henderson HS)
As a senior, Kroeker rushed for 1,895 yards and 42 touchdowns. He kicked five of seven field goals and had a 48.6-yard punting average. He lettered four times each in football, basketball and track, and participated in four state championships. Kroeker was a Class C-2 all state selection at three positions in football (I-back, punter, place-kicker). He was also an all-state guard in basketball and the state's prep athlete-of-the-year.

Personal
John is the son of Harold and Doris Kroeker and has three brothers. He was born in Titusville, Fla., on Jan. 26, 1967. A CoSIDA Academic All-American as a senior at Nebraska, Kroeker was a business administration major who graduated with better than a 3.6 GPA.
