1987 (Senior)
Steve Forch was Nebraska’s No. 2 tackler with 74 stops (37 solos) over 11 games for the Blackshirts on his way to All-Big Eight honors as a senior in 1987. He notched three tackles for seven yards lost and forced one fumble, while pulling down two interceptions. He added eight pass breakups from his weakside linebacker position. He also posted seven assisted tackles in the 1988 Fiesta Bowl, including one tackle for four yards lost, and broke up one pass. Forch helped the Huskers rank sixth nationally in scoring defense (12.1 ppg), while ranking eighth in total defense (264.7 ypg).

In his career, Forch totaled 93 tackles, including 49 solos. He had nine breakups and two interceptions. He earned three letters for Nebraska (1984, 1985, 1987).

1986 (Redshirt)
Forch battled an early season shoulder injury that required surgery and also struggled with a hip flexor, missing several games before deciding to redshirt.

1985 (Junior)
Forch notched 10 tackles, including six solos, while playing in every game for the Big Red as a junior. He added the first pass breakup of his career. H also recorded two tackles (one solo) in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl.

1984 (Sophomore)
Forch earned his first varsity letter after recording eight tackles, including five solos, while playing in every game for the Huskers in 1984.

1983 (Freshman)
A scholarship recruit, Forch was a linebacker on Nebraska’s 1983 freshman team alongside Marc Munford and Kevin Parsons. Forch also recorded one unassisted tackle on the varsity.

Lincoln East High School
Forch was an all-class all-state linebacker and offensive guard for former Husker Lee Zentic at Lincoln East.

Personal
The son of Paul and Marcia Forch, Steve was born in McCook, Neb. He has one brother and one sister. Paul Forch was a long-time, highly successful basketball coach at Lincoln East. Steve was a criminal justice major at Nebraska.
