1988 (Senior)
Andy Keeler joined center Jake Young and left tackle Bob Sledge as returning starters on a dominant Nebraska offensive line in 1988. Keeler, a 6-3, 265-pound left guard out of Omaha Burke High School, earned first-team All-Big Eight honors from United Press International after starting every regular-season game and the Orange Bowl against Miami. He helped lead Nebraska to the Big Eight title with a perfect 7-0 conference mark on its way to an 11-2 season. A three-time letterwinner, Keeler paved the way for a Big Red ground game that captured the NCAA rushing title with 382.3 rushing yards per game. Nebraska also ranked sixth nationally in scoring (39.5 ppg) and seventh in total offense (477.9 ypg).

1987 (Junior)
Keeler started at left guard alongside Young and Sledge as a junior, helping the Huskers to a 10-2 overall record that included a trip to the 1988 Sunkist Fiesta Bowl against Florida State. The Huskers ranked third nationally in both rushing offense (373.5 ypg) and scoring (38.5 ppg), while ranking second in the total offense (489.0 ypg).

1986 (Sophomore)
Keeler earned his first varsity letter as a reserve offensive lineman for the Huskers in 1986. Nebraska ranked second nationally in rushing offense (305.5 ypg) and third in scoring (37.8 ppg). The Big Red finished with a 10-2 overall record that included a 30-15 win over LSU in the USF&G Sugar Bowl.

1985 (Redshirt)
A scholarship recruit, Keeler redshirted in his second season at Nebraska.

1984 (Freshman)
Keeler started at right guard for Nebraska’s 4-1 freshman team.

Omaha Burke High School
A prep All-American and a consensus all-state selection for Coach Larry Jacobson at Omaha Burke, Keeler started at offensive guard and defensive tackle.

Personal
The son of Maxine Keeler, Andy was born in Sioux Falls, S.D. His older brother, Mark, was a starting defensive tackle and co-captain for Nebraska’s 1983 team. Andy majored in economics at Nebraska.
