1986 (Senior)
He helped lead the Huskers to the 1987 Sugar Bowl, where Nebraska defeated LSU Tigers football, 30-15. The Huskers finished the season ranked second nationally in rushing offense, averaging 305.5 rushing yards per game, and third in scoring with 37.8 points per contest.
1985 (Junior)
Casterline earned a varsity letter as a special teams player and as a reserve fullback. Casterline appeared in 9 games as a senior running back. He carried the ball eight times for 29 yards, including a 4 yard touchdown run vs. Oregon.
1984 (Redshirt)
Switched to fullback and redshirted his third season as a Husker.
1983 (Sophomore)
Dan lettered at monster for the 1983 varsity team, recording 11 tackles, including a 7 yard sack. He also picked up a punt block against Kansas while running for a 21 yard touchdown.
1982 (Freshman)
Casterline played monster backer on defense for the Huskers 5-0 freshman team, recording 12 tackles, seven unassisted, two pass break ups, and shared the teams lead in interception switch two, which he returned on 52 yards for a touchdown against Nebraska- Omaha.
Evergreen High School
Two-time all-state pick and an honorable-mention All-American as a fullback and a linebacker for Coach Bob Beaty.
Personal
Dan was a physical education major. He is the son of Paul and Joanne Casterline, He was born in January of 1964 in Denver Colorado.
