1986 (Senior)
Davis had a standout senior season, earning post season awards as second team All-Big Eight. Davis highlighted his season with a first quarter pick six against Illinois (32 yard return) to help Nebraska to a dominant 59-14 win. Brain finished the season with 23 total tackles, three of which were unassisted, he also recorded one sack of six yards and eight pass break ups. Davis recorded four total tackles against LSU in the 1987 Sugar Bowl to help Nebraska to a 30-15 win.
1985 (Junior)
Brain was moved into the starting line up for good, as a junior, when Dennis Watkins went out with injury mid-season. David had a fine game in the Big Eight opener against Oklahoma State where he had four tackles, an interception and four pass break ups. Davis finished the season with 23 tackles, 20 which were undefeated and two interceptions.
Glendale Community College (Phoenix, Arizona)
Davis developed quickly under Coach Charles Zontano and earned first-team all-conference, all-region and junior college All-American honors in 1984.
Phoenix Cortez High School
Davis only played one year of High School Football for Coach Jim Jones before walking on at Glendale Community College. Although he lacked football experience, he was a fine high school wrestler and qualified for the Arizona State meet three times.
Personal
Brian Davis, born in August 1963 in Phoenix, Arizona, is the son of Pat and Claranell Davis. He majored in Business Administration.
Davis had a standout NFL career, highlighted by his interception of Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway in Super Bowl XXII, helping lead the Washington Redskins to a dominant 42–10 victory over the Broncos.
During his eight year NFL career, Davis played for four teams: the Washington Redskins (1987-1990), Seattle Seahawks (1991-1992), San Diego Chargers (1993), and Minnesota Vikings (1994). Davis also had a brief stint on the Buffalo Bills practice squad (1994). He finished his career with 157 tackles and nine interceptions. One of his most memorable regular-season plays came in the 1991 Seattle Seahawks season opener, when he returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown after picking off a pass from New Orleans Saints quarterback Floyd Turner.
