1982: Senior Season
Kris Van Norman helped lead the Husker defense in his last season at Nebraska...totalled 27 unassisted tackles and 11 assisted tackles...had two sacks for a combined loss of 27 yards...tallied three pass break ups on the season...earned Academic All-Big eight  with a 3.66 GPA, in business.

1981: Junior Season
Van Norman had a fine season in 1981 when he was the Huskers' first substitute as both monster and safety, and he's one of the keys to NU's rebuilt secondary...recorded eight tackeles as a junior, seven of them unassisted, and tied for second on the team in interceptions with three, which he returned 49 yards, including a 34-yard non-scoring return vs. Oklahoma State, Nebraska's longest of the season...for those accomplishments, and for his 3.462 grade-point (out of 4.0) in business, he was named Academic All-Big Eight.

1980: Sophomore Season
As a sophomore alternate, Van Norman lettered and played 158 minutes...in 1980, he intercepted a pass and broke up another against Kansas...intercepted pass against Mississippi State in the Sun Bowl...also in 1980, he was an honorable-mention Academic All-Big Eight selection with a 3.4 in business administration.

1979: Redshirt
Redshirted in 1979 after starting for the freshman team in 1978.

1978: Freshman Season
Started for the freshman team...intercepted two passes...started at monster.
