When Miller finished his career he held every tight end receiving record. As of 2007 Miller still holds the yards gained in a season record with 560 yards on 30 receptions and is tied with three other Huskers (Todd Millikan 1980, Johnny Mitchell 1990, Gerald Armstrong 1992) for first in touchdowns in a season with seven.

Senior (1979)
Named to every major All-American team in 1979 and a two time All-Big 8 performer (1978-1979). Played in the Hula and Japan Bowls. Miller was drafted in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons, the seventh overall pick in the draft.

Nebraska’s consensus All-American in 1979. In 1979 he has 23 catches for 435 yards and seven touchdowns, also ran the ball eight times for a gain of 80 yards. Named to every major All-American team in 1979 and a two time All-Big 8 performer (1978-1979). Miller started the season off on a high note against UtahState with a 43 yard touchdown reception from Jeff Quinn in a 35-14 win over the Aggies. In the third game of the year against the Nittany Lions of Penn State, Husker quarterback Tim Hagar connected with Miller on two touchdown passes (11 yards and 70 yards) to defeat the Lions on ABC 42-17. Hagar and Miller would connect on touchdowns in each of the next two games against Kansas and OklahomaState. Miller’s best game came in a 34-3 scorching of Iowa State in Lincoln, Miller ended the day with 83 yards on six catches and two touchdowns from Jeff Quinn, Miller also carried the ball three times for 22 yards.

Junior (1978)
Led NU in receiving with 33 catches for 609 yards and six touchdowns. Also led the team with touchdown passes caught in a game, two against Kansas, and with most pass yardage caught in a game, 124 yards on five catches against Kansas State. Earned AP Third-Team All-America honors and first-team AP All-Big 8 awards. He was also named the Big 8 Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his efforts against Kansas State.

Sophomore (1977)
Miller picked up valuable playing time behind Ken Spaeth and Mark Defresne.

Before Nebraska (Robert E. Lee High School)
Under Coach Jim Acree, Miller earned All-American football and All-State basketball honors.

Miller was born on Nov. 26, 1957 to Mrs. Irene Miller.
