1975 (Senior)

Ranked as Nebraska’s top defensive player entering his senior year. Earned First-Team All-America honors as a senior and was a repeat All-Big 8 selection. Led the defensive linemen in sacks as a senior and had 13 stops behind the line for 62 yards. Martin had 61 total tackles on the season which ranked him fifth on the team. Martin’s 13 stops behind the line tied him with Clete Pillen and Mike Fultz for second on the team, but no on the team had more yards in losses on their tackles then Martin (62 yards yards lost).


1974 (Junior)

Gained All-Big 8 honors in 1974. Was also an Honorable Mention All-American by Football News. Racked up 53 total tackles, 26 unassisted. Also brought down opponents five times behind the line of scrimmage for 20 yards lost.

 

1973 (Sophomore)
Broke in as a starter during the ’73 campaign. Had the most tackles of any year he was at Nebraska with 65 total tackles and also recovered two fumbles.

 

Before Nebraska (DavidCity High)
Nebraska’s high school Athlete-of-the-Year in 1972. Running back and linebacker at DavidCity for Coach Wayne Arnold. Earned three letters in football and four letters in both basketball and track.

 

Personal
Big family, two brothers and five sisters. Bob was born on November 14, 1953 to Mr. and Mrs. Louis E. Martin. Business Administration Major while at Nebraska.
