Pat Fischer Season 1973

1973 (Senior)
Pat came from a long line of Husker footballers. Uncles Ken, Rex and Pat, and Dad Clete all played for the Huskers. Fischer finished with five tackles, four of those being unassisted. 

Pat helped the Huskers to the best pass defense in the Big Eight for the second straight year, only allowing 39.9 yards per game. Nebraska ranked second in total defense at 245.8 yards per game, behind only Oklahoma.

1972 (Junior)
Pat lettered with the Huskers as a reserve. He finished the season with one unassisted tackle. 

Nebraska had the best defense in the Big Eight, allowing just 219.2 yards per game. The Huskers ranked first in passing defense (106.5 ypg) and second in rushing defense (112.7 ypg).

1971 (Sophomore)
Fischer did not letter as a sophomore, but intercepted a pass against Kansas and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown. Nebraska finished with an undefeated record (13-0) and beat Alabama 38-6, in the National Championship game.

McCook Junior College (McCook, Nebraska)
Pat was a star cornerback for Coach Larry Kramer at McCook Junior College. 

Lincoln Pius X (Lincoln, Nebraska)
Fischer was a standout player at Lincoln Pius X.  Pat was majoring in physical education and is the son of Cletus Fischer.
