1972 (Senior)
Jerry was a three year starter (1970-73), List wound up his career with 70 catches for 1,013 yards at the time ranked him third, behind only Johnny Rodgers and Guy Ingles. Also a good ball carrier, he tried the end -around play eight times in his career for 77 yards, 9.6 per-carry average. Many coaches rated him the best tight end of the Devaney Era because of his receiving, running and blocking abilities. 

List helped lead the Huskers to the Big Eight’s top passing attack for the second consecutive season. Nebraska also ranked fourth in the conference in rushing offense, averaging 219.3 yards per game, and finished second in total offense at 440.3 yards per game. 

1971 (Junior)
List had good speed and elusiveness, allowing him to have his second productive year and earn honorable mention All-Big Eight honors. Jerry finished with 23 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns along with four rushes for 38 yards. 

The Huskers boasted the Big Eight’s top passing attack, averaging 179.3 yards per game, while their ground game produced 3,100 yards, good for third in the conference at 258.3 yards per game. Overall, the Husker offense averaged 437.7 yards and 39.1 points per game, ranking second in the Big Eight in both categories behind only Oklahoma. Nebraska finished with an undefeated record (13-0) and beat Alabama 38-6, in the National Championship game. 

1970 (Sophomore)
Jerry caught 23 passes for 281 yards, and rushed twice for 26 yards. He came on strong in 1970 and by the end of the season was rated by many as the best tight end in the Big Eight. 

T.L. Hardy High (Bay City, Michigan)
List was All-Conference and third-team All-State at T.L. Hardy High School, playing under Coach William Carr. He earned nine letters, playing football, basketball and track. Jerry was majoring in business administration and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. List.
