Doug sat out his junior season with a knee injury.
1971 (Sophomore)
Doug lettered as a reserve defensive tackle. Nebraska finished with an undefeated record (13-0) and beat Alabama 38-6, in the National Championship game.
Benson High School (Omaha, Nebraska)
Johnson was an All-State player under Coach Roger Sorenson at Benson High School. He was also an All-American in basketball. Doug was majoring in English education and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Johnson.
