Dave Goeller

1973 (Senior)
Goeller added depth to Nebraska’s I-Back position. In 1973, Goeller rushed for 152 yards in 49 carries and earned a start in the North Carolina State game. Nebraska finished the season strong, ending with a 9-2-1 record and a 19-3 Cotton Bowl win over Texas.

1972 (Junior)
Dave was the fourth leading rusher with 322 yards and six touchdowns on 86 carries. He also caught two touchdown passes to give him 48 points and make him No. 4th scorer. The Huskers finished the season with a 9-2-1 record and a 40-6 Orange Bowl win over Notre Dame.

1971 (Sophomore)
Goeller rushed 20 times for 102 yards as a sophomore. Nebraska finished the 1971 season undefeated (13-0) and as National Champions, beating Alabama in the Orange Bowl, 38-6.

1970 (Freshman)
Dave was a member of the Husker varsity squad but did not see playing time. 

Pilger High School (Pilger, Nebraska)
Dave was a three sport athlete at Pilger High School. He came to Nebraska without a scholarship and did well. Goeller was majoring in agronomy and is the son or Mr. and Mrs. John Goeller.
