2024 (Sophomore)
Roman Mangini has played in four games this season. He had an 11-yard catch against UTEP for his first career reception.
2023 (Redshirt Freshman)
Mangini played in two games in 2023, seeing time against Northern Illinois and Purdue.
2022 (Redshirt)
Mangini redshirted and did not play in a game in 2022.
Before Nebraska (Desert Ridge HS)
Mangini joined Nebraska from Desert Ridge High School in Arizona. Mangini played both safety and wide receiver for Desert Ridge. In his final two seasons, he totaled 110 tackles, three interceptions and 19 passes defended, according to MaxPreps.
As a senior in 2021, Mangini recorded 68 tackles - including 40 solo stops - with 4.0 tackles for loss, three interceptions and 12 passes defended. As a junior, Mangini was credited with 42 tackles and seven passes defended. Additionally, Mangini blocked three field goals in his career. Mangini also competed in track and field as a sprinter and jumper during his prep career at Desert Ridge.
Personal
Roman was born on Aug. 19, 2003, and is the son of Rocco and Vanessa Mangini. He is majoring in marketing and was an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2023. He is one of Nebraska’s most active players in community outreach and received the Sam Foltz 27 Hero Leadership Award in 2024.
