2007 Outlook
Senior offensive lineman Victory Haines will enter fall camp hoping to get in the regular rotation in a deep and talented NU offensive front. Haines has impressed the Nebraska coaching staff with his versatility since arriving in Lincoln in January of 2006. During spring practice, he spent considerable time as a backup to Brett Byford at center, but is capable of seeing action at nearly any position on the line.

The 6-7, 290-pound Haines played in five games as a reserve last fall, after enrolling at Nebraska in January and participating in spring drills. Haines joined Nebraska from Snow College in Utah. He is one of 23 Husker seniors expected to graduate in December and carries a 3.452 grade-point average in mathematics/education. Haines is also dependable in the community and was one of 10 Huskers named to the 2007 Brook Berringer Citizenship Team.

2006 (Junior)
Haines appeared in five games, the first four of the year and also at Oklahoma State. He added depth on the line and also served as a backup on NU’s kicking unit.

Before Nebraska (Snow College/Logan HS)
Haines played at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, and was among the nation’s top junior college linemen. He was ranked 77th on the Rivals.com Junior College Top 100 and ranked among the SuperPrep JUCO 100. After redshirting his first year at Snow College, Haines embarked on a two-year mission to Hungary in 2002.

Haines was named team MVP for Coach Steve Coburn at Snow College, and led his team to a 10-2 record. Snow ended the year with a victory in the Top of the Mountains Bowl, where it defeated Butler, 17-14 at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Snow College finished 2005 with a No. 7 national ranking. Haines also helped Snow to a Top of the Mountain Bowl win in 2004. He was a 2005 All-Western States Football League first-team honoree, and was named a third-team Junior College Wire All-American in 2005.

Haines graduated from Logan High in 2001, where he led his squad to a state title in 2000, and then enrolled at Snow College in the fall of 2001. Originally from Logan, Utah, Haines chose NU over Duke, Hawaii, Illinois and New Mexico State.

Personal
Victory is the son of Barbara and Keith Haines and was born on March 3, 1983. He has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll each of his three semesters at Nebraska. Haines volunteered his time as a speaker during "School is Cool" Week and American Education Week and regularly participated in Nebraska’s team hospital visits.
