  • Big 12 Commissioner's Fall Academic Honor Roll (2009)

2010 Outlook
Redshirt freshman Tyrone Lewis spent his first year in the Nebraska program adding the necessary strength to play the linebacker spot. The 6-2, 205-pound Lewis spent the spring working at the WILL linebacker spot and will look to add depth at the position in 2010. A walk-on, Lewis came to the Huskers after an outstanding prep career at Lincoln North Star High School.

2009 (Redshirt)
Lewis redshirted and worked on the Husker scout team defense.

Before Nebraska (North Star HS)
Lewis was a key player in the turnaround of the North Star High School program under Coach Mark Waller. Lewis helped the Navigators improve from a 1-8 record in 2006 to a 6-4 mark the following year and the squad's first state playoff appearance since 2005. In 2008, the team made it to the second round of the playoffs. Individually, Lewis earned first-team all-state honors from the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World-Herald his senior year.

Personal
Tyrone is the son of Tracy Lund and Tyrone Parker, and he was born on Oct. 14, 1990. Lewis has not declared a major. He was named to the Big 12 Fall Academic Honor Roll.
