1982 (Senior)
Toby started the Huskers first 10 games at right defensive tackle in 1982 until a strained knee vs. Iowa State forced him to miss the Oklahoma and Hawaii games. Williams' best game came in a 23-19 win over Missouri when he recorded nine tackles and one quarterback sack for a 10 yard loss. Toby finished his senior season with 49 tackles, 30 unassisted, four tackles for loss of eight yards, three sacks for 16 yards of loss and one pass break up. Toby had a big game in the Big-Eight title game when he had four unassisted tackles, one sack and an interception in their win over Oklahoma, 28-24. Toby’s play on the field earned his second-team All-Big eight pick by the Associated Press. 

1981 (Junior)
Toby had an impressive season despite it being injury and illness plagued. Williams missed the first two games because of a liver ailment, then he suffered a severe leg bruise late in the Auburn game which forced him to miss the first two games of the Big Eight schedule. He finished the season with 44 tackles, 20 unassisted, two tackles for a loss of six yards, three sacks for 25 yards and three pass break ups. Williams had a solid appearance in the National-Championship Orange Bowl against Clemson when he finished with five total tackles, three unassisted. 

1980 (Sophomore)
Williams played a key role in the Husker defense that led the Big Eight in all defensive categories. He shared the starting role with Henry Waechter, and made 58 tackles, including 29 unassisted and five tackles for loss totaling 30 yards, recovering three fumbles and broke up two passes. The Huskers finished the 1980 season with a 10-2 record and a 31-17 Sun Bowl win against Mississippi State.

1979 (Redshirt)
Toby redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1978 (Freshman)
Toby walked on at Nebraska in 1978 with younger brother Jimmy, who was an All-American defensive end during 1981 and was a first round draft pick. Toby started for the undefeated freshman team, 5-0.

Woodrow Wilson High School (Washington, D.C.)
Williams played offensive and defensive tackle for Coach Benard Hogans. Toby was majoring in criminal justice and is the son of James and Flora Williams.
