• 1979 ABC-TV Offensive Player-of-the-Game (Week 3 vs. Penn State)

1979 (Senior)
Hager started fall camp as the No. 5 quarterback, despite this he started seven games. He led Nebraska in a come-from-behind 24-21 win over Iowa, then started Penn State through Kansas State games. He completed 46 of 91 passes for 680 yards and six touchdowns. Against Penn State he was named ABC-TV Offensive Player-of-the-Game when he completed 14 of 22 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns, both to Junior Miller and one for 70 yards. He helped Nebraska to a 10-2 finish and a Cotton Bowl appearance against Houston in 1979.

1978 (Junior)
Tim was the alternate quarterback behind Tom Sorley. Tim came in against Missouri when Sorley was injured and led Nebraska to a touchdown. He finished the season with 10 completions for 185 yards and a touchdown and 61 yards and another touchdown on the ground. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.

1977 (Sophomore)
Tim was a reserve during his sophomore year, he recorded two rushing attempts. Tim helped the Huskers finish with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17.

1976 (Redshirt)
Hager redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1975 (Freshman)
Tim was a walk on as a freshman and played for the undefeated freshman team. 

Lincoln Southeast High School
Tim was an All-State quarterback for Lincoln Southeast. He played under Coach Frank Solich. Tim was majoring in business administration and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesleyan Hager.
