Memorial Stadium

1987 (Junior)
Standard earned his first varsity letter as a junior, playing as an alternate left defensive end.  His contributions helped the Cornhuskers finish the regular season with a 10-2 record and earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.   

1986 (Sophomore)
Stranard was a non letter winner during the 1986 season. Listed as the No. 3 left defensive end, behind returning All-Big Eight performer Broderick Thomas and Jon Macrco. Standards contributions helped the Huskers to a 10-2 record.  

1985 (Redshirt)
Standard dislocated his shoulder in fall camp, ending up in him redshirting his second season at Nebraska. 

1984 (Freshman)
Standard started for the 4-1 freshman team, recording 24 tackles including the largest number of tackles for loss for a freshman with 10 for 56 yards. 

Lincoln Southeast High School
Stanard was an honorable-mention All-American and All-Class All-State linebacker for coach Chuck Mizerski. He also played running back and was all City in swimming. 

Personal
Steve was a business administration major. He is the son of Darrel and Lee Stranard. Born in Lincoln Nebraska. Steve is currently coaching as a rush ends coach at the University of Minnesota.
