• 1985 Academic All-Big Eight

1985 (Senior)
Tucker came back from pre-season arthroscopic knee surgery and began the season as the alternate left end behind Brad Smith, then started at right end in the first three Big Eight games after Gregg Reeves broke his hand and dislocated his shoulder against New Mexico. Tucker switched back to left defensive end against Colorado when Smith was out with a hand infection. Smith was the Huskers leading tackler among defensive ends with 35, 17 unassisted, including five for losses of 29 yards. His top tackle game was nine, including a quarterback sack against Missouri. He also had seven tackles, a sack and a pass breakup against Oklahoma State. 

1984 (Junior)
Tucker was a reserved right end behind All-Big Eight Scott Strasburger and Gregg Reeves. Tucker finished the season with six tackles (four unassisted and two for losses of two yards), he also broke up a  pass and caused a fumble. 

1983 (Sophomore)
Tucker earned his first varsity letter during the 1983 season. He recorded five tackles, including four unassisted. 

1982 (Redshirt)
Tucker redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1981 (Freshman)
Tucker was a walk-on alternate behind Strasburger on the 5-0 Husker freshman team that only allowed 15 points all season. 

Lincoln Northeast High School
Tucker was an all-city linebacker for Coach Bob Els. He also played tight end in addition to lettering in basketball and track.

Personal
Tucker was an accounting major and is the son of James and Lois Tucker.
