1976 (Senior)
Ron backed up Al Eveland as the Huskers; kickoff artist his senior year. He connected on two of three extra points. Ron helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.

1975 (Junior)
VanderMeer didn't record any stats his junior year. The Huskers finished the season with a 10-2 record and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Arizona State.

1973-1974 (University of California)
Ron transferred to Nebraska after spending two seasons at the University of California. 

1972 (San Joaquin Delta Junior College)
Ron spent one year at San Joaquin Delta Junior College where he earned Junior College All-American honors under Coach Bill Gott. 

Tracy High School (Tracy, Calif.)
Ron was a standout kicker under Coach Wayne Schneider.
