Ricky Greene Season 1984

1984 (Senior)

Ricky was a two-year letterman serving as a backup to Neil Harris and Dave Burke at cornerback. In the three games Greene appeared in, accumulated a pair of tackles. 

1983 (Junior)

Greene had limited playing time during his junior year. Greene would have a broken wrist limiting his time throughout half the year. In the games Greene did appear in he would secure nine tackles with eight of them being unassisted. He would also intercept one pass and knock four of them away in his limited time playing. 

1982 (Sophomore)

Ricky would serve as an alternate to two-year starter Neil Harris. Not receiving any regular-season game appearances. 

1981 (Redshirt) 

Ricky Greene would redshirt in his second season with the Huskers in 1981. During the redshirt Greene would convert from I-back to cornerback. 

1980 (Freshman)

Recruited in 1980 as a I-back. Greene would rush 10 times for 82 yards, and one touchdown, as a reserve for the 5-0 Huskers’ freshman team. 

Personal

Son of Lesley and Frances Greene, Ricky Greene was born on Aug. 25, 1961 in Seminole, Texas. Ricky was an All-District  and All-South Plains at Seminole High School where he earned 14 letters in four different sports. Greene would play in the Texas high school all-star football game. Greene enrolled at Nebraska as a criminal justice major. Greene would be signed by the Denver Broncos as a free agent, he would later be cut from the final roster in 1985.
