Rene Anderson

1977 (Senior)
Rene was Nebraska’s No. 1 right cornerback in 1977. He intercepted three passes in his senior year, and broke up seven more to go with 36 tackles, 21 unassisted. The Huskers finished with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17.

1976 (Junior)
Rene backed up Dave Butterfield at right corner. He finished with 15 tackles, including 8 unassisted. Rene helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.

1975 (El Camino Junior College)
Rene transferred to Nebraska from El Camino Junior College in Alondra Park, California. Rene earned Junior College All-American honors under Coach Ken Swearingen. 

Thomas Jefferson High School (Los Angeles, Calif.)
Anderson was All-League split end and defensive back under Coach Harry Littlefield. Rene earned letters in track and baseball. He was majoring in physical education and is the son of Victoria Perkins.
