- 1979 11th Round NFL Draft Pick (Cleveland Browns, 287th Overall)
1978 (Senior)
A recurring knee injury ruined what could have been a great season for Poeschl in 1978. He had knee surgery in the summer and played the first three games, but reinjured it in the Hawaii game and missed the rest of the season. Potential was still there, as Randy was picked in the 11th round of the 1979 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns (287th Overall). Randy recorded ten tackles, eight of which were unassisted in his three games as a senior. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma.
1977 (Junior)
Randy landed the starting position at right tackles as a junior. He finished the season with 50 tackles, including 24 unassisted and three stops behind the line for a loss of 10 yards. Randy teamed up with left tackle Rod Horn to give the Huskers two imposing figures in the defensive line. He helped the Huskers finish with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17.
1976 (Sophomore)
Randy was an alternate letterman with the 1976 Huskers, he finished with 14 tackles, 9 unassisted and two tackles for a loss of seven yards. Poeschl helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.
1975 (Redshirt)
Poeschl redshirted his second season as a Husker.
1974 (Freshman)
