Randy Garcia Season 1977

1977 (Senior)
Randy directed the Huskers to victories over Alabama and North Carolina in the Liberty bowl in 1977. He was a part time starter and recorded 41 completions for 624 yards and five touchdowns, and 142 rushing attempts for 668 yards. He helped the Huskers finish with a 9-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win against North Carolina, 21-17.

1976 (Junior)
Randy backed up All-American Vince Ferragamo, completing four of 17 passes for 77 yards, and 24 rushing attempts for 78 yards. Randy helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.

1975 (Sophomore)
Garcia was a reserve behind Ferragamo and Terry Luck. He recorded three completions for 35 yards and 10 rushing attempts for 62 yards. Garcia helped the Huskers finish the season with a 10-2 record and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Arizona State.

1974 (Injury Redshirt)
Randy sat out the 1974 season while recovering from knee surgery he had during the spring. 

1973 (Freshman)
Garcia was the starting quarterback for the freshman team. 

Woodrow Wilson High School (Los Angeles, Cali.)
Garcia was an All-American at Woodrow Wilson High School under Coach Vic Cuccia. He was majoring in criminal justice and is the son of Raymond and Lena Garcia. Randy signed a free agent deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
