Percy Eichelberger Season 1976

1976 (Senior)
Percy lettered three years, logging time behind Nebraska's linebackers Clete Pillen in 1976, James Wightman in 1975, and Tom Ruud in 1974. He started two games as a senior in the weakside linebacker spot. Eichelberger utilized good strength and range to make 42 tackles, 24 unassisted, one tackle for a loss of three yards and a broken up pass. Percy helped Nebraska finish the season with a 9-3-1 record and an Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl win over Texas Tech, 27-24.

1975 (Junior)
Percy played behind Jim Wightman. He still managed to put up a strong performance when he finished with 26 tackles, 11 unassisted and two for a loss of nine yards. The Huskers finished the season with a 10-2 record and a Fiesta Bowl appearance against Arizona State.

1974 (Sophomore)
In ‘74 Percy played behind All-Big Eight performer Tom Ruud. He clocked 14 tackles, ten unassisted and two tackles for a loss of 5 yards. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and a Sugar Bowl win against Florida (13-10).

1973 (Redshirt)
Percy redshirted his second season as a Husker. 

1972 (Freshman)
Eichelberger was a standout star for the unbeaten ‘72 freshman team. 

Louisville High School (Louisville, Miss.)
Percy was a prep standout at Louisville High School under Coach A.J. Kilpatrick. He was majoring in business and is the son of Mrs. Willie Lee Glass.
