1982 (Senior)
Mike was one of three Husker offensive linemen to earn consensus All-Big Eight honors in 1982, Mandelko was a three-year letterman and two-year starter for the Huskers at left guard. Mike was one of the main reasons the 1982 Huskers were able to lead the nation in rushing, total offense and scoring. 

1981 (Junior)
Mandelko moved into the starting lineup in 1981 after spending a year backing up Joe Adams, He went on to have an outstanding season, earning second-team All-Big Eight honors from the Associated Press. He played an important roll in the Huskers offense which finished second in the nation in rushing at 330.5 yards per game and sixth in total offense at 437.5 yards per game. 

1980 (Sophomore)
Mike played as a reserve in 1980 and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in Nebraska’s 35-0 win at Iowa State. 

1979 (Redshirt)
Mandelko redshirted his second season as a Husker.

1978 (Freshman)
Mike started for the Huskers freshman team. 

Lexington High School
Mandelko was an all-state and all-conference offensive guard and defensive tackle for Coach Dennis Thornell. He was also an all-state and all-conference basketball player and a three-year letterman in track

Personal
Mandelko was majoring in natural science and is the son of Lawrence and Helen Mandelko.
