- 1999 Big 12 Commissioner's Spring Academic Honor Roll
One of Nebraska's top tacklers, Mark Vedral started all 12 games and the Rose Bowl for the Huskers at Will linebacker in 2001, tying for second on the team with 62 tackles, including 25 solos, and eight tackles for 31 yards lost. An explosive and versatile defensive player, Vedral added 2.5 sacks, eight quarterback hurries, one interception and two pass breakups in a solid senior season.
The Gregory, S.D. native finished a solid NU career with 104 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss. He added four tackles, including one solo and three assists, in the 2002 Rose Bowl.
Vedral, who graduated in December 2001 with a degree in business administration, followed in the footsteps of brothers Mike (1990-92) and Jon (1994-96), who also played for the Huskers. Mark was a two-time Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll member.
