1974 (Senior)
Mark was a solid starter for the Huskers, he ranks as an outstanding downfield and pro-pass blocker. Doak’s blocking helped quarterback Dave Humm lead the Big Eight in total offense (1556 yards), and helped wingback Don Westbrook finish second in receptions (33) and second in scoring (60) in the Big Eight. Doaks was drafted in the 6th round of the 1975 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins (147th Overall). Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and a Sugar Bowl win against Florida (13-10).
1973 (Junior)
Mark backed up Nebraska's All-American lineman, Daryl White. Mark guided the Huskers to the fourth best rushing attack (225.4 ypg) and the second best passing offense (170.6 ypg) in the Big Eight during the ‘73 season. Mark helped the Huskers to a 9-2-1 record and a 19-3 Cotton Bowl win over Texas.
1972 (Sophomore)
Doak saw plenty of playing time as a sophomore. Doak assisted the Huskers to a 9-2-1 finish on the season and a dominating 40-6 win over Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl.
1971 (Redshirt)
Doak redshirted his second season as a Husker.
1970 (Freshman)
Mark played offensive line for the Husker freshman team.
Lowell High School (Whittier, Calif.)
Mark was an All-League and All-County player at Lowell High School under Coach Chuck Magnuson, and he was the 1970 Athlete-of-the-Year. He was majoring in Physical Education and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh M. Doak.
