1984 (Senior)

Huskers’ second-leading tackler as a senior and the No.15 tackler all-time at Nebraska. Daum’s season-best game was his last home game as a Husker when he was credited with 14 tackles with eight of those being unassisted and one sack. Mark would also intercept the Oklahoma quarterback once that game. Daum would also earn Husker player of the week twice, once against Kansas State and Syracuse. Daum would end the season with 74 tackles with 39 of them being unassisted. Six of those tackles would be for a loss of 34 yards. Daum would reach opposing quarterbacks to record four sacks. Mark would intercept opposing quarterbacks twice and had three pass breakups. 

1983 (Junior)

Daum would be the second-highest tackler with 93, 44 of those tackles would come unassisted. Including a team-leading nine for a total loss of 17 yards, plus two quarterback sacks for a total loss of nine yards. Mark would suffer a knee injury vs. Iowa State. After Daum had an arthroscopic surgery early the next week. Daum was back in practice eight days later and had a pair of 15-tackle games against Missouri and Wyoming. Mark would later be named Husker player of the week for his performance against Wyoming. Daum would also lead the Huskers’ in tackles in the Orange Bowl against Miami with nine. 

1982 (Sophomore)

Mark was a lettered reserve player. In the games that Mark entered he had four tackles with the three of them being unassisted.

Mark Daum would redshirt in his second season with the Huskers in 1981

1980 (Freshman)

As a Walk-on for Nebraska, Daum would start every game for the Husker’s 5-0 freshman team at linebacker.

Personal 

Son of Nick Daum, Mark Daum was born on Feb. 26, 1962, in Dix, Neb. Mark has one brother, Mitch Daum, who played football at Wyoming as a tight end in 1982-1985. Daum was an All-state performer in eight-man football at Dix High school. Mark would enroll at Nebraska as an agriculture major. Mark would later sign as a free agent to the Cleveland Browns in 1985, he would later be released by the team. His brother Mitch would sign for the Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Oilers. He would only appear in two games for the Oilers in his short NFL career.
