1987 (Senior)
Jones appeared in every game during the season except Nebraska's matchup against South Carolina. He played a key role on defense, recording 15 total tackles, including 10 solo stops and three tackles for loss. Jones also recovered a fumble against Oklahoma. His contributions helped the Cornhuskers finish the regular season with a 10-2 record and earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Florida State.
1986 (Junior)
Jones missed two games during the 1986 season with a knee sprain (Missouri and Kansas). Despite the injury Jones still finished the season with 36 tackles including 23 unassisted and seven tackles for loss in his nine games as a starter. Lee helped the Huskers defense put up two shut outs (70-0 @ Kansas, 38-0 vs. Kansas State) during the season. Helping Nebraska to a 10-2 record and a Sugar Bowl win against LSU (30-15).
1985 (Sophomore)
Jones played behind All- American Jim Skow in his first year playing varsity. Jones still put up solid numbers finishing the season with 12 tackles, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. Nebraska finished the season with a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl against Michigan.
1984 (Redshirt)
Jones Redshirted his second season as a Husker.
Omaha Benson
Jones was All-Conference and All-Metro defensive tackle for head coach Dan Carruther. Jones also played full back.
Personal
Lee was a Speech Communication Major. He is the son of Vernita Jones, born in Omaha. He is the Older brother of All-Big Eight I-Back, Keith Jones.
